The National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) in Bucharest, Romania and SEEDIG are pleased to announce a joint initiative dedicated to students, researchers and academics in South Eastern Europe and the neighbouring area (SEE+).

The Smart Cities and Regional Development Journal – a peer-reviewed and indexed international journal run by SNSPA– will dedicate its third volume to Internet governance and policy, with a focus on the SEE+ region. This special edition will be prepared for SEEDIG 5 and presented at the meeting in Bucharest (7–8 May 2019).

The SCRD Journal publishes empirical and theoretical contributions from all over the world in the mentioned area of research. However, this issue is developed in connection with the 5th annual meeting of the South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG 5) and is focused on Internet governance and policy. It aims to disseminate results of rigorous and relevant studies, and to expose positions and commentaries regarding Internet governance and policy issues, in particular (but not limited to) those specific to South Eastern Europe and the neighbouring area. 

We invite students, researchers and academics in SEE+ to contribute to this special issue. Contributions could cover issues such as digital rights, cybersecurity and cybercrime, data-driven technologies, digital skills, the digital economy, access and development, etc. We particularly encourage the submission of papers which touch on issues included in the programme of SEEDIG 5. 

The SCRD Journal does not have an article submission, processing or publishing fee.
