Main e-learning course (22 June – 2 August 2020) | Shaping the Internet

 

Module 3 (20 July–2 August | Internet actors and stakeholder groups

During these two weeks, you are expected to:

  • Read the course material in the online platform and complete the activities & quizzes contained within. Deadline: 2 August.
  • Participate in the discussions that will take place in the Course Discussion Forum regarding the subject matter. You are required to start discussion threads and respond to your colleagues’ posts relating to the module’s topic. Please contribute a minimum of two (2) substantive posts in the Course Discussion Forum and return regularly to read and respond to messages from your colleagues, and to interact with the moderator(s) and other Youth School participants. Deadline: 2 August.
  • Answer the question below in no more than 150-200 words: Now that you know more about Internet governance and digital policy, would you like to get more involved in this ‘world’? How do you think you could do this? What are your plans? You can talk about involvement at a national, regional and/or international levelPlease add your response to the collaborative doc. Deadline: 29 July, end of day
  • Participate in the online meeting on 31 July, at 17:00 CEST.

 

Module 2 (6–19 July) | Internet policy and principles

During these two weeks, you are expected to:

  • Read the course material in the online platform and complete the activities & quizzes contained within. Deadline: 19 July.
  • Participate in the discussions that will take place in the Course Discussion Forum regarding the subject matter. You are required to start discussion threads and respond to your colleagues’ posts relating to the module’s topic. Please contribute a minimum of two (2) substantive posts in the Course Discussion Forum and return regularly to read and respond to messages from your colleagues, and to interact with the moderator(s) and other Youth School participants. Deadline: 19 July.
  • Answer the question below in no more than 150-200 words: What are the most urgent/important Internet policy issues in your country? Please describe at least two issues and possible solutions (solutions optional)Please add your response to the collaborative doc. Deadline: 15 July, end of day
  • Participate in the online meeting on 17 July, at 17:00 CEST.

 

Module 1 (22 June – 5 July) |  Introduction to Internet governance

During these two weeks you will be expected to:

  • Read the course material in the online platform and complete the activities & quizzes contained within. Deadline: 5 July.
  • Participate in the discussions that will take place in the Course Discussion Forum regarding the subject matter. You will be required to both start discussion threads and respond to your colleagues’ posts relating to the module’s topic. Please contribute a minimum of two (2) substantive posts in the Course Discussion Forum each module, and return regularly to read and respond to messages from your colleagues, and to interact with the moderator(s) and other Youth School participants. Deadline: 5 July.
  • For each module there is also a brief written assignment. For module 1 you need to answer the question below in no more than 150-200  words: How would you explain Internet governance to someone who has never heard of the term IG? (no copy-pasting, your own definition of IG please). Please add your response to this collaborative doc.
      • Kindly note that the deadline to submit your answer to this question is 1 July, end of day. By submitting your answers before the online meeting, we will be able to go through them during our discussions.
  • Participate in the online meeting on 3 July, at 17:00 CEST.
