SEEDIG 11

On behalf of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Internet Governance Forum (BH IGF) and the Southeastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG), we are pleased to inform you about a joint cooperation between our two initiatives for their 2026 editions in Sarajevo.
SEEDIG — being the regional IGF initiative — will take place in Sarajevo in November 2026, coinciding with the usual timeframe of the annual BH IGF, the two communities have decided to join efforts and organize their activities in a coordinated and collaborative manner.
As part of this cooperation and bottom up approach, SEEDIG welcomed BH IGF to contribute with two dedicated sessions to the SEEDIG programme, with one session taking place on each day of the event. Beyond these dedicated sessions, BH IGF and its community will also be involved more broadly in the SEEDIG programme, including through the participation of local stakeholders and contributors across the agenda.
We see this cooperation as a practical example of the spirit and value of the Internet Governance Forum and its National and Regional Initiatives (NRIs). Rather than organizing parallel activities during the same period with our IG communities, as two established NRIs we are coming together to create a more connected, inclusive and impactful programme, building on their respective networks, expertise and communities.
This collaboration reflects some of the core principles of the IGF and NRI model: bottom-up cooperation, inclusiveness, meaningful multistakeholder participation, community ownership, and the ability of national and regional communities to work together in ways that respond to their local and regional context.
We are particularly pleased that the 2026 editions of BH IGF and SEEDIG provide an opportunity to demonstrate how national and regional initiatives can complement and strengthen one another, while contributing to a more connected and collaborative Internet governance community.
